Receive notifications in Slack from Optimizely Experimentation when your experiments reach statistical significance. You can also receive sample ratio mismatch (SRM) detection and change history notifications.
This integration builds on the Slack and Optimizely Content Management Platform (CMP) integration.
Install
- Go to the Optimizely app from the Slack app directory.
Make sure to select the correct Slack workspace.
- Click Add to Slack.
- Click Allow on the permission access page.
- If the Optimizely app is added, a confirmation page displays.
- In your Slack application, go to Apps > Optimizely > Home, and click Login to Experimentation.
- Log in with your Opti ID credentials.
- After logging in, a confirmation page displays.
After logging in, your Slack integration should look similar to the following image.
If you see a message instructing you to refresh the view, click Refresh.
Use slash commands
To interact with Optimizely Experimentation through Slack, you can invoke a slash command in any channel.
The following commands are available:

/subscribe
– Subscribe to a particular project in the channel. All channel members can see the notifications. -
/unsubscribe
– Unsubscribe from a particular project in the channel. -
/unsubscribe-all
– Unsubscribe from all project notifications in the channel. -
/show-subscribed-projects
– Show the list of subscribed experimentation projects in the channel. -
/optimizely-help
– Trigger the help prompt containing all help guidelines.
Subscribe to a project
To get updates when your Experimentation projects reach statistical significance, subscribe to that project:
- Use the
/subscribe
command in any channel. - Select an Experimentation project you want to subscribe to.
- After Slack fetches your project information, the channel is subscribed to the project's updates.
After subscribing, you receive notifications when your project reaches statistical significance.
Troubleshoot
Some organizations prevent their users from installing apps within Slack. If this is the case, ask your Slack Workspace Admin to approve the app before you can install it. See Manage app approval for your workspace in the Slack Help Center.
