Sharing Objects with Users and Groups
You can share any object in the Analytics catalog with other users or groups if you have share privileges. For more details on authorization and access control, see Authorization and Access Control.
Viewing Current Access Levels
For any object, you can see who has access to that object and with what access level by clicking on the "Share" Icon. A list of users and groups with their corresponding access level is shown.
The access level shown here will be explicitly assigned to the object. Some users may have implicit access based on their role (e.g. "Org Admin" has access to everything), which will not be shown here.
You have share privilege for an object if you have "Can Edit" access level for that object.
Sharing Objects
Here's how you can share objects with other users and groups.
- Click the "Share" icon at the top-right corner of the dashboard.
- In the Share dialog box, enter the names of users or groups you wish to share the object with, set the level of access, and click Invite.
- Once the invites are sent out, you will be able to view the different users/groups and their respective access levels in this section. You can also Remove access whenever required.
Collaborate With Comments
Users can comment on tiles, dashboards, and explorations and collaborate with the team. In addition to commenting, users can also mention other users in the organization. Here's how you can post comments.
- Click the 'Comment' icon that you will find at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Type in your comment in the box provided and click Send to post it. Now, your comment will be visible to all users in the organization.
- If you want to mention specific users in the organization in your comment, type @ and a list of all users will be pop up. Select the user you want to mention and click Send.
