Within the Settings module, Analytics provides the Alert Inbox tab to help you apply filters on your Alert Inbox.

The following fields/filters can be configured here.
Default Filters
The Default Filters settings control the default state of the inbox filters. You can filter your alerts with the following criteria:
- Status - Click the drop-down menu next to Status. Click Open or Closed to view alerts for the respective status(es).

- Severity - Click the drop-down menu next to Severity. Click Critical, Warning, Info, and Other in the menu to view alerts for the respective severities. You can select one or more of these severities to filter your alerts. For example, you can select both Critical and Warning if you want to only see the critical and warning severity alerts.

- Rules - Click the drop-down menu next to Rules and choose a rule to view alerts for that specific rule.

-
Time Filter Type - Click the drop-down menu next to Time Filter Type to select the type of time range. Select one of the items in the menu to view alerts for the specific timing state:
- Generated In - Alerts generated within a specific time range.
- Started In - Alerts started within a specific time range.
- Active In - Alerts that were active within a specific time range.

- Time Range - Click the drop-down menu next to Time Range, to define the date/time range on which to filter. You can choose a relative time range or if you want to investigate a specific period of time, you can specify an absolute time range.

- Assigned To Users - Click the drop-down menu next to Assigned To Users to filter alerts by one or more users. Choose a user's name to see their assigned alerts.

Dimension Filters
A rule can include grouping dimensions enabling it to generate alerts for specific entities when the rule's metric is exceeded. When you define Dimension Filters in the alert preferences, this filters alerts based on the grouping dimension(s) defined for your rules. After saving the filter, it becomes selectable on the Alerts Inbox screen.

When your configuration is complete, click Save to save your changes.
