Version 114

  • Updated

Update in Funnel template

  • Funnels can now be grouped by a property of a stage entry event. For example, a shopping funnel could be grouped by the "product_category" event property of the "add to cart" stage's entry event.

Updates in Event Segmentation template

  • A new measure Frequency has been added in the Event Segmentation Explore template. This shows the distribution of actors by the number of times they performed an event. When this measure is chosen, frequency bins will be generated automatically, but the user can customize the bins as well.

  • When you run an event segmentation analysis, based on the chart type that you choose, Analytics will now mutate the 'show over time' value. This means that the 'show over time' toggle is automatically enabled/disabled based on the type of chart chosen.

  • Period over period comparison is now available in Event Segmentation.

Improvements in Parameter configuration

  • Query filtering using parameters is one of the most common use cases. In order to simplify this, Analytics now has a first-class UX to perform query filtering within dashboards. This will make sure users do not get confused between query filtering and parameter tile UX.
  • When users define a dashboard parameter tile, Analytics suggests all the parameters that are currently defined across all tiles in the dashboard and other parameter tiles.
  • While defining a new parameter in the context of a visualization tile, Analytics prompts the user to also specify default value(s) for that parameter so the visualization can be rendered immediately without further input from the end user.

Time range picker improvements

The time range picker that was previously inside the template inputs section inside explorations has been moved to the visualization window. Analytics users can now set the time range using a simple drop-down or even choose from the quick options and quickly iterate through different choices of time range and time grain without leaving the chart. It is also possible to set a lag using the Ending option - for example, "the 3-day window ending 2 days ago".

Update in Retention template

The improved version of the Retention template has a field named Cutoff under Advanced Options where users can set the cutoff time between two events defined in the Retention section. This field has been added instead of the within field that was available in the older version of Analytics.
