To create a funnel, you can follow the steps given below. As an example, let's create a funnel analysis to determine the number of users who have been converted to each stage based on searches performed by them and content played. To create this example, we use the Flix app and the demo datasets within it. You can also see these examples inside the app.
- Click the "+" on the left panel and choose Funnel.
- Give your funnel a name, add a description (optional) and choose the folder you want to place it in.
- The next step is to set the Measure. Choose a value for your measure from the drop-down. Here, we choose the Converted to each stage measure and select the Users dataset.
- Following this, you can set the different stages for your funnel. These stages can be reordered using drag and drop. In each stage, you will track different events. For our example, let us configure the stages as follows:
- Stage 1 : Home Page under Product Events.
- Stage 2 : Browse and Search under Product Events.
- Stage 3 : View Content Details under Product Events.
- Stage 4 : Play Content under Product Events. Let us also set a time range filter here - click on the time range filter icon and navigate to the Relative to Event tab. Here, set the condition as follows: Within 1 day after previous stage and choose Stage 1. Click Apply.
- Now, set the time grain for your analysis in the visualization window.
- Once all sections are configured, click Run Exploration.
- Finally, click Save.
- To change chart settings, navigate to the top-right of the exploration, click the three dots and choose Edit visualization. Here, you can make changes to the chart type, color, size, etc.
You can set multiple filters inside funnels. Whenever you create filters, you can reference parameters inside them to fine-tune your exploration. Learn more about parameters.
