Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) leverages Opal, Optimizely's smart AI assistant, to automatically create and generate ideas for real-time segments. This can help you deliver a data-driven, personalized customer experience without manually creating a real-time segment from scratch.
To create an Opal-suggested real-time segment:
- Go to Customers > Real-Time Segments.
- Click Create Real-Time Segment > Ask Opal.
- Select from three suggested segments or enter a prompt to create a segment. You can select all three segments or create multiple segments by entering multiple prompts.
- Click Create Real-Time Segment to go to the segment overview. Opal offers detailed insights on the selected segment, highlighting its value and potential customer benefits.
- View the segment or click Edit Segment to make your desired edits. For example, you can delete conditions or entire condition groups, add attributes or events within condition groups, add new condition groups, and so on.
Opal-suggested segments only use customer attributes, so you cannot make any event-based edits, such as adding event conditions, adding events within condition groups, and so on. - Click Save Segment if you make any edits. You can now search for the segment in the search bar.
View Opal chat history
You can view your previous chats in Opal to review selected segments or use previously suggested segments.
- Go to Customers > Real-Time Segments.
- Click Create Real-Time Segment > Ask Opal.
- Click the Opal chat icon to open the side panel. You can view the timeline of your chat history. Click any segment to view your selected segments or use a suggested segment.
Create new Opal chats
You can generate a new chat or search old chats to brainstorm ideas and create additional real-time segments.
- Go to Customers > Real-Time Segments.
- Click Create Real-Time Segment > Ask Opal.
- Click the Opal chat icon to open the side panel.
- Click New Chat to refresh the chat and enter a prompt to generate a new real-time segment. You can search for an old chat by clicking Search and entering your chat name.
Expand, delete, copy, and regenerate Opal chats
- Go to Customers > Real-Time Segments.
- Click Create Real-Time Segment > Ask Opal. In the Opal chat window, you can:
- Delete the entire chat history.
- Expand the chat window.
- Move the chat window to the center or dock it to the side.
- Copy individual chat messages.
- Refresh the chat.
- Close the chat after creating your segments.
