PII: Personally identifiable information in Optimizely Experimentation

  • Updated

It is important to remember that your terms of service with Experimentation prohibit you from collecting or sending any personally identifiable information (such as names, social security numbers, email addresses, or any similar data) to Experimentation's services or systems through Dynamic Customer Profiles, or any other feature.

If you decide to use email addresses or any other type of personally identifiable information in your Testing or Optimizely Web Personalization Campaigns, please make sure to salt and hash this information before providing it to Experimentation by using a one-way hash function or consider representing users using a random unique identifier.
