Agents in Optimizely Opal are purpose-built AI agents that complete specific, well-defined tasks. They support the following two interaction modes:
- Single-shot – The agent runs once and returns a result.
- Multi-turn – The agent stays active in Opal Chat for follow-up instructions.
Create, customize, and manage agents using prompts, input variables, tools, and inference level.
Access your agents
- Go to home.optimizely.com.
- Select your organization.

Click Opal.

Click Agents.

Click the Your Agents tab.
Create an agent

Use an agent
Invoke agents in the following ways:
- Triggered by
@mention in Opal Chat. - Triggered within a workflow agent.
Edit an agent

If you use Opti ID, administrators can turn off generative AI in the Opti ID Admin Center. See Turn generative AI off across Optimizely applications.
