Optimizely Opal supports a variety of file types across its feature. Understanding the supported formats and their associated technical specifications ensures compatibility and optimal performance when uploading and managing your assets in Opal.

The following sections outline the file types currently supported by Opal, along with relevant limitations.

Image files

For images, Opal supports the following common web-friendly formats:

  • .png 
  • .jpeg 
  • .webp 

Technical specifications for image files

  • Maximum images per prompt – 3,000
  • Maximum image size – 7 MB
  • Supported MIME types – image/pngimage/jpeg, and image/webp.

Document files

For documents, Opal supports the following formats:

  • .pdf 
  • .txt
  • .csv

Technical specifications for document files

  • Maximum number of files per prompt – 3,000
  • Maximum number of pages per file – 1,000
  • Maximum file size per file – 50 MB
  • Supported MIME types – application/pdftext/plain, text/csv.

Video files

For video content, Opal supports the following formats:

  • .3gp
  • .avi
  • .flv
  • .mov 
  • .mpeg 
  • .mp4

Technical specifications for videos files

  • Maximum video length (with audio) – Approximately 45 minutes.
  • Maximum video length (without audio) – Approximately 1 hour.
  • Maximum number of videos per prompt – 10.
