Turn on the Cookie/Privacy Policy pop-up for new site customers to review and accept your cookie and/or privacy policy, without having to build a pop-up from scratch. Insert pop-up content that meets applicable compliance and privacy laws. For example, include an explanation of what information you are collecting and how you use it, or send customers to a page that describes the cookies and how to enable/disable them appropriately.
This pop-up comes with an Accept Cookies button that closes the pop-up and sets the cookie when customers click it. The pop-up will not show on other site pages once the cookie is set. There is also a close button on the pop-up that does not set the cookie when customers click it, so the pop-up will continue to appear on other site pages.
Enable the cookie/privacy policy pop-up setting
- Go to Administration > System > Settings in the Admin Console.
- Search for Enable Cookie/Privacy Policy Pop-Up.
- Set the Enable Cookie/Privacy Policy Pop-Up to ON.�When enabled, the site will render the pop-up for customers to see the privacy policy and information about cookies. Default value: Off.
- Click Save.
Create content for your cookie/privacy policy pop-up
- Go to Administration > System > Site Messages in the Admin Console.
- Search for CookiePrivacyPolicy.
- Click the Edit icon next to Core_CookiePrivacyPolicy.
- Add your content to the Message field. You can add HTML tags to format the content, for example headers, paragraphs and links.
- Select All Websites or a specific website from the Website Target drop-down list.
- Click Save, then click Back.
- Click the Edit icon next to Core_CookiePrivacyPolicyAccept.
- Edit the text of this button, which defaults to�Accept Cookies, in the Message field, if desired.
- Select All Websites or a specific website from the Website Target drop-down list.
- Click Save.
