Enable Virtual Teammates

Enable Virtual Teammates in Optimizely Opal so users in your organization can hire and configure their own AI teammates. As an Opal administrator, you enable a teammate for your organization by turning on the jobs you want and connecting the tools it needs.

This article is for Opal administrators. To hire and configure a teammate as a user, see Hire a Virtual Teammate.

Prerequisites

Before you enable a Virtual Teammate, configure your organization's email domain in Opal. Each teammate works from its own mailbox at that domain, such as chief-of-staff@vau.yourcompany.opal.optimizely.com. 

To configure the email domain, go to Settings > Email Domain. For the steps, see Get started with Optimizely Opal for administrators.

Enable a Virtual Teammate

Complete these in Opal steps to enable a Virtual Teammate for your organization:

1. Go to Virtual Teammates > Directory. If your team has no teammates yet, click Grow your team > Browse the directory.

   

2. Find the teammate you want, such as the Chief of Staff. 

   

   To review what the virtual teammate does first, click the teammate's tile. To view its details, click Details.
3. Click Enable for your team.

4. (Optional) Turn off any jobs you do not want to make available.

   

5. Click Set up connectors.

6. Click Add connector for each tool the teammate needs, and install it. If a connector is already installed in your organization, you can skip it. See Connector tools overview.

   

7. Click Enable teammate.

After you enable the teammate, your users can hire and configure their own from the Directory tab. Each teammate gets its own email address in your Opal domain.
