Enabling Aloha Editor after an Upgrade to Ektron 9

  • Updated

When upgrading to 9.0 from an older version of the CMS, some customers are unsure of how to enable the Aloha editor.

To enable Aloha for users running a Windows machine, edit the site's siteroot\web.config file and change the ek_EditControlWin value to Aloha. To enable it for Mac users, change the ek_EditControlMac value to Aloha also.

Another option is to change those values to UserPreferred. This setting lets users to choose an editor by editing the Workarea > Settings > Edit User screen > General tab > User and Forum Editor field.
