Organize product templates for Configured Commerce

You can integrate product templates in Optimizely Product Information Management (PIM) with Optimizely Configured Commerce.

Add product templates

  1. Hover over a folder and click the Add Product Template icon. 
  2. Enter a Template Name and select whether you wish to Require Product Image for any products assigned this template.
  3. Use the search to narrow the property groups results and select the property group(s) to add to this template.
  4. Filter for property input in the main panel to find property groups containing a specific property and to filter for that property.
  5. Click Expand All to see all properties contained in your selected property groups.
  6. Click Select All within a property group to select all properties within that group.
  7. Hover over a property and click the Delete icon if it is not appropriate for the template.
  8. Set whether any of the properties you have selected should be Required or Recommended. Required means you must fill these in for the PIM to consider a product complete and be able to publish on your website. Recommended means a field is highly encouraged for best practices.
  9. Click Edit Values for properties with template-specific values to optionally search for and select or enter values that are valid for this template.
  10. Drag and drop the property groups within the template to order the information for your team when editing products in this template.
  11. Click Save.

Edit product templates

  1. Hover over the template in the template list and click the Edit icon. If you already have the template selected, you can edit it by clicking the Edit icon beside the template name.
  2. Use the filter for property input to find property groups containing a specific property.
  3. Click Expand All to see all properties contained in your selected property groups.
  4. Click Select All within a property group to select or deselect all properties within that group.
  5. Edit any previously-defined fields or hover over a property and click the Delete icon if it is not appropriate for the template.
  6. Set whether any of the properties you have selected should be Required or Recommended. Required means you must fill these in for the PIM to consider a product complete and be able to publish on your website. Recommended means a field is highly encouraged for best practices.
  7. Drag and drop the property groups within the template to order the information for your team when editing products in this template. 
  8. Click Save.

Delete product templates

  1. Expand the product template tree to find the template you would like to delete.
  2. Hover your cursor over the template name and click the Delete icon.
  3. You will see a warning message stating that deleting a template affects any products using this template. You will need to assign a new template to those products before they can be published to your Configured Commerce site.
  4. Click Confirm Changes.
