Create field groups

Ensure better governance in Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP) by creating templates of fields for Library assets based on content types or user teams. This prevents users from guessing and searching for applicable fields. For example, if you upload a video to the Library, you can choose what fields to apply based on your video asset template.

You must be an Administrator to create or edit field groups.

Manage field groups

Go to Settings > Fields and click on Groups.

Create a group

  1. Click Create Group.

  2. Enter the field group Name, such as PDF fields.
  3. (Optional) Add a description.
  4. Click Add Field to select the fields for the group. After you have added the fields, you can drag and drop them to arrange the order. You can also click Create New to create a field.
  5. Click Save Group.

Administrators can also create a field group from the asset page. Go to the asset and click Add Fields to add the fields. When finished, click More (...) > Save Fields as Field Group.

Use field groups

After you have created the field group, users with permission to add fields can see that group when adding a field to an asset. Click Add Field and select the checkbox to add all fields in the group. Click Expand (>) to see and select specific fields in the group. Click Add.
