Sync data from CMP to Optimizely Graph

The OCP database is not included in the free version of OCP. The free version syncs data in real-time without using the OCP database, letting you access public apps and data syncs.

With Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP), you can sync your Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP) Digital Asset Management (DAM) data to Optimizely Graph in real-time.

After you configure the CMP to Optimizely Graph data sync, it syncs any updates to that data from CMP to Optimizely Graph in real-time. You can also trigger a full sync if you want to sync existing CMP data to Optimizely Graph in addition to the real-time updates that sync from the point you save the data sync.

Configure the data sync

  1. Go to Data Setup > Sync Manager.
  2. Click New Sync.
  3. Complete the following for the sync source:
    • Sync Name – Enter a name for this data sync, like CMP to Graph.
    • Source – Select Content Marketing Platform.
    • Instance – Select the CMP instance from which you want to sync DAM data.
    • Object – Select the data type that you want to sync from DAM, like Image.
  4. Complete the following for the sync destination:
    • Destination – Select Optimizely Graph.
    • Instance – Select the Optimizely Graph instance to which you want to sync DAM data.
    • Content Type – Select the Optimizely Graph data type to which you want to sync DAM data, like CMPImage.
    • Status – Select the CMS status for the content. See View versions.
    • Language – Select the Optimizely Graph locale for the content. See Locale.
    • Delete Mode – Select the data deletion type between None, Soft, and Hard. 
      • None – Data is not deleted.
      • Soft – Retains the data but updates the record with an expired timestamp.
      • Hard – Permanently removes the data. Subsequent API calls for the asset ID return a Not Found error.
  5. Connect specific CMP DAM fields with Optimizely Graph fields in the Field Mapping section. Alternatively, click Auto-map fields to automatically map data fields from your source product to your destination product.

    • Click Select source field… to choose a source object or array from the drop-down list. Enter your field name in the search bar to find a specific field by name. You can also select nested fields within a parent object. For example, under Content, you can choose data types such as Type or Value. Click Compatible to view fields that match the required format, or Suggested to see fields recommended by CMP.

      Ensure the data types are compatible between mappings. For example, if the source field data type is string, the destination field data type must also be string.

  6. Click Save.

Trigger a full sync

After you configure the CMP to Optimizely Graph data sync, it syncs any updates to that data from CMP to Optimizely Graph in real-time. If you want to sync existing CMP data to Optimizely Graph:

  1. Go to Data Setup > Sync Manager.

  2. Click More (...) > Trigger now for the CMP to Optimizely Graph data sync.
