Exploration generation with Opal

  • Updated

If you use Opti ID, administrators can turn off generative AI in the Opti ID Admin Center. See Turn generative AI off across Optimizely applications.

The exploration generation feature streamlines the creation of explorations in Optimizely Analytics by letting you input natural language questions. It instantly generates explorations to kickstart your product analytics journey. Simply ask Opal your question in chat, and receive an exploration without any configuration. This feature lets new users transition from questions to insights in one easy step. Read more about Optimizely Opal chat for Optimizely Analytics.

Example

The following example is created within the Flix demo app in Optimizely Analytics, which is a fictional streaming app. The following is a step-by-step guide to creating an event segmentation exploration using Opal using natural language:

  1. Enter the first prompt for the exploration, for example, 'Can you help me create an event segmentation analysis?'. Opal asks you to specify the events you want to include in the analysis.

  2. Choose a measure for your analysis. Opal shows you the list of available measures, for example, the number of times an event occurred, the number of unique users who performed a particular event, and so on.

  3. Enter the names of the events, if you know what to include. Or ask Opal to select the relevant events, for example, 'I don't know what to include, but I know I want to analyze events that include 'content''. Opal displays a list of all events relevant to your query.

  4. Select the events. Opal gathers information about the specified events.
