What ports does Ektron use?

This article lists all ports that Ektron uses for various product functions. The list is divided by function, and shows each function's corresponding ports. For security reasons, please make sure you are only opening ports on your firewall that you need to use.

Here is a brief rundown of ports that Ektron uses based on product function.
(This assumes a default installation.)

eSync
Ektron Windows Service: 8732

Search :


MS Search:
Query Service: 7500
Ektron Search Server Service: 8732
Ektron Protocol Handler : 6080 & 6081
MS SharePoint Central Administration: VARIES BY INSTALLATION (1234 is default)

Solr :

Ports open inbound on Solr box

7600 Query Service (During installation, you're prompted to select a base port. 7600 is the default. All subsequent Solr ports are based on the Query Service value.) 

7601 Admin Service

7605 Asset Transfer Client Service (receives files from the CMS server)

7609 Process Manager Service


The next three ports only listen locally so you should not need to open them. Restart process manager and ensure all four java processes(or 3 if using Ektron 9.1 or previous) are started.

7602 Tomcat Connector 

7603 Tomcat Shutdown

7611 Solr

Ports open inbound on the CMS Box
8732 Ektron Windows Service
8732 Asset Transfer Server Service (sends files to the Solr Machine).
