No Cloud License tab in the Manage Websites

  • Updated
Description

We have seen some customers attempt to add a Developer Cloud License to their Azure site (not DXP) but when they put the license file in the root folder of the site, it was not working due tot he license not being activated.

When following this document https://docs.developers.optimizely.com/content-cloud/v12.0.0-content-cloud/docs/managing-cloud-licenses, they found there is no Cloud License tab to activate the license.

Solutions

We found that the site had installed EPiServer.CloudPlatform.Cms package because it is copied from a DXP site, and was preventing the Cloud Licensing tab from showing in a non-DXP hosted environment. This package prevents the UI showing the Cloud License tab, so removing this package makes the Cloud License show up and the it can be activated then.

Additional comments.

You could use this portal https://license.episerver.com/default.aspx and choose [CLOUDDEV] Episerver 7 Cloud Developer License to generate the Developer Cloud License.
