Find demo index issues

Demo indexes, i.e. indexes created at find.episerver.com, can intermittently lead to issues such as no search results,  401 errors, and failure to index. Although demo indexes have no promised uptime or reliability requirements there are some potential considerations.

Find demo indexes are only valid for 30 days. If the index has existed for a period of time it may have expired.

If the index is not working after being regenerated it may be caused by maintenance work being performed on the index's cluster. Support can be contacted to confirm a maintenance period, or the index may need to be recreated.

Full paid indexes are more reliable and are subject to an SLA. DxP customers may already have a full development index available in their agreements and can request the index (which is similar in specs to the other DxP environments) by contacting support@optimizely.com.
