Optimizely Configured Commerce uses cost codes in Budget Management to provide additional metadata on orders at the customer level. You can use these codes to enforce budgets or for reporting.
When you have the setting to Show Cost Codes enabled, customers see the Cost Codes field during checkout. The setting Cost Code Editing lets customers add their own cost codes during checkout. See Budget Management overview for information.
Follow these steps to add a cost code in Budget Management:
- Click Cost Codes on the Budget Management page.
- Enter a Cost Code Title. This title displays when cost codes are present.
- Click Add Cost Code.
- Enter the Cost Code.
- Enter a Description.
- (Optional) Click Add Cost Code to add another.
- Click Save.
If you need to remove a cost code later, you can click the Remove icon (X) beside the code.
