Configure the Bynder app

  • Updated

The OCP database is not included in the free version of OCP. The free version syncs data in real-time without using the OCP database, letting you access public apps and data syncs.

Contact your Customer Success Manager if you have any questions.

The Bynder app lets you connect your Bynder account to Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP) to sync Bynder asset data and receive real-time changes to assets through Bynder webhooks.

This app imports the Bynder data to OCP, where you can then use the Sync Manager to sync this data to your other Optimizely products.

OAuth 2.0 authentication in Bynder

Create an OAuth app in your Bynder account before connecting it to OCP.

  1. Log in to the Bynder app as an administrator.
  2. Go to Settings > Portal Settings > Security > OAuth Apps.
  3. Click Add new app and enter the following details:
    • Application name – Enter Optimizely Connect Platform.
    • Description – Enter Integration with Optimizely Data Platform.
    • Redirect URI – Copy and paste the OAuth Redirect URI (https://auth.zaius.app/grant/bynder) from Settings > Authorization in OCP. See Install and configure the app in OCP
    • Scopes – Select the following permissions:
      • offline – Required for token refresh
      • asset:read – Required to read asset data
      • asset.usage:read – Required to read asset usage data
      • meta.assetbank.read:read –  Required to read asset bank metadata
      • webhooks.config.read – Required to view webhook configurations
      • webhooks.config:write – Required to manage webhook configurations
    • Click Save.

After you authorize the app using OAuth per Bynder’s requirements, the Bynder asset data is downloaded to OCP, and future updates are synced through the supplied webhook URL.

Install and configure the app in OCP

  1. Go to Data Setup > App Directory.
  2. Select the Bynder app.

  3. Click Install App. The Settings tab displays.
  4. Enter your Bynder Instance URL.
  5. Enter your Client ID and Client Secret

If you cannot see the Client ID or Secret, uninstall and reinstall the app.
  6. Click Authorize with OAuth. You are redirected to Bynder to approve the connection. After approval, you are redirected to OCP again to complete the configuration.
