Account Details
You can configure your default landing page and the topic selections for your default page on the Account Details page. To configure account details for your Content Recommendations instance, complete the following:
-
Select a dashboard from Default Page > Dashboard drop-down list. This displays as your default main page each time you log in to Content Recommendations.
-
Choose a filter from the Default > Filter > Shared Filters or My Saved Filters lists, which contain the filters you configured and saved in the dashboard you set as your default. If you select a filter, your dashboard always displays the data for your selected filter. Select No Filter to display all data.
-
Select your top topics from the Topic Selections > Default Selection list. The list displays the saved selections from your dashboard. If you choose a selection, your default dashboard always displays this selection as the Top Topics.
-
Click Update Account to save the changes.
Configuration
You can set a master filter, select commonly visited answers, set IP address filters, enable A/B testing, and whitelist domains on the Configuration page. Complete the following for each section and click Save when you make the changes:
-
Master Filters – Choose your Content, Insight, or Engage filters from the drop-down lists. If you select a filter as your master filter, your dashboard always displays the data for your selected filter. For example, if you previously created a filter in the Content Dashboard to display properties and you select that filter from the Content drop-down list, your dashboard only displays the data for properties every time you log in.
When configuring a master filter, exercise caution because master filters are global for a given page. You should only set up a master filter if you do not need to investigate a specific delivery, such as email. -
Answers – Select filters from Topic Performance, Top Topics, and Title for Top Topics drop-down lists to apply them to their associated Answers page.
-
IP Address Filters – Configure your IP address filter by selecting a starting IP and an ending IP. When you define an IP range, Content Recommendations reporting excludes any interactions originating from that range. For example, if you clicked a content item the previous day and then added your IP address to the filter the next day, those interactions no longer appear in the reports. You can configure multiple IP address filters. To configure an IP address filter, complete the following fields:
- Title – Provide a name for the filter, like Michael.
- Start IP – Enter the starting IP address, like 31.21.9.235.
- End IP (Optional) – Enter the ending IP address, like 31.21.9.235. This can be similar to the Start IP.
Interactions originating from these IP addresses or ranges are excluded from all dashboards and are not flagged as filtered within user profiles. -
AB Testing – Enable A/B testing by creating control groups. Select Enabled and enter a test group value to specify the Control Group Size. The system then calculates and displays the corresponding control group percentage.
-
Whitelist – Enter the hostnames and domains associated with the Content Recommendations instance to permit interactions and content from these sources. Provide each entry on a separate line.
Shared Views
You can view and edit the details of your shared filter views on the Shared Views page. Each dashboard in Content Recommendations includes a Share This View link (located beside the title) that you can use to share the dashboard with other members of your organization.
After you share a view, it is saved in the Shared Views list. To see the details, copy link, revoke access, and search for a shared view, complete the following:
- Click the name of a shared view from the Shared Views list (for example, Insight Dashboard) to open the shared view and see the details.
- Click Copy to Clipboard to copy the link.
- Click Active (the lock icon beside Copy to Clipboard) to revoke access. You can reinstate it by clicking it again.
- Enter the copied URL in the search bar and click Go to search for your shared view.
-
Choose a dashboard from the All Areas drop-down list to view the shared views of that dashboard only.
