Remove items

Optimizely Configured Commerce has three ways to remove items:

  • Delete – Completely removes the item from the database and should only be done if the item was added erroneously or is a duplicate.
  • Archive – A soft delete that removes the item from the site but does not delete it from the database. You can quickly restore archived products.
  • Deactivate – A temporary method tied to a specific date. This can be useful if the product is a promotional item only available for a limited time.

After performing the following actions, you should rebuild the Product Search Index. Go to Products > More (...) > Rebuild Product Search Index.

Delete

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Select the product(s).
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Delete again.

Archive

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Select the product(s).
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Archive.

Deactivate

Single item

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Click the Edit icon for the product.
  3. Go to Details and enter a date and time for Deactive On.
  4. Click Save.

Multiple items

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Select the products and click the Edit icon. The first product opens in the editor.
  3. Go to Details and enter a date and time for Deactive On.
  4. Click Save and Next to go to the next product.
  5. Click Done when finished.

You can click Clear to undo any changes after the last save. It does not clear the form.
