Optimizely Configured Commerce has three ways to remove items:
- Delete – Completely removes the item from the database and should only be done if the item was added erroneously or is a duplicate.
- Archive – A soft delete that removes the item from the site but does not delete it from the database. You can quickly restore archived products.
- Deactivate – A temporary method tied to a specific date. This can be useful if the product is a promotional item only available for a limited time.
After performing the following actions, you should rebuild the Product Search Index. Go to Products > More (...) > Rebuild Product Search Index.
Delete
- Go to Products.
- Select the product(s).
- Click Delete.
- Click Delete again.
Archive
- Go to Products.
- Select the product(s).
- Click Delete.
- Click Archive.
Deactivate
Single item
- Go to Products.
- Click the Edit icon for the product.
- Go to Details and enter a date and time for Deactive On.
- Click Save.
Multiple items
- Go to Products.
- Select the products and click the Edit icon. The first product opens in the editor.
- Go to Details and enter a date and time for Deactive On.
- Click Save and Next to go to the next product.
- Click Done when finished.
You can click Clear to undo any changes after the last save. It does not clear the form.
