Use the CMS to create new pages or copy existing pages for your Configured Commerce site. Add pages at the top level of the hierarchy and display them on the navigation bar, or choose to hide pages from navigation and link them to parent pages.
To create a new page, the user must have a Content Editor role or Content Admin role. An ISC_Admin cannot create content by default.
Create a page
- Go to and log into the website as user with the Content Editor and/or Content Admin roles.
- Hover over the blue triangle in the upper left corner of the website and select Show CMS.
- Click Content Tree in the upper left corner.
- Click Edit.
- Click the chevron to the right of the Home menu item, then select Add Page.
If a tertiary subpage menu is desired, create the new page from the appropriate secondary page.
- Under Item Type, select the desired page type. For a blank web page, select Content Page.
- Under the Template, select the desired template.
- Click Next.
- Populate the Name, Title, and URL fields. The URL field should be entered in the form: /myurl
- Optionally, add content to the Meta Description, Meta Keywords, and Summary fields. These three fields provide data for search engine optimization (SEO).
- There are several optional fields to populate:
- The Meta Description, Meta Keywords, and Summary fields provide data for search engine optimization (SEO).
- The Open Graph tags control how content displays when shared on social media. If left blank, the page title, product's canonical URL, and product image with sort order of 1 will be used for the tags. Populating the fields will override the default behavior. By default the small image is used, if there is no small image, the medium is the fallback.
- Check the desired boxes at the bottom of the screen. If Hide Header and/or Hide Footer are left unchecked, the Home page's header and footer display on this page. Select Hide from Search Engines to ensure the page does not show up in internal or external searches, Exclude From Navigation to prevent the page from appearing on the main toolbar, and Exclude From Sign In Required to allow unauthenticated users to access the page.
- Lastly, as an option, CSS and/or JavaScript can be added.
- Click Save.
- The new page appears in the Content Tree under the Home section and is orange in color to show it is not published.
- Once the page is ready, select the Publish button in the top level toolbar.
The Name field has a 50 character limit.
Copy a page
Often an existing page or page variant would make an excellent template for new pages. The Copy Page option allows a user to effectively treat an existing page as a template and create any number of duplicate pages from it. There are several considerations to be aware of when copying a page:
- System pages, such as the Home page, Product Detail page, and My Account page cannot be copied and do not provide the option to copy the page.
- Copied pages include the same content as the source page.
- Copied pages are not published automatically.
- All page variants are copied without rules, even if the original variant had rules assigned.
- For child websites only:
- If the CMS Content (Link) option was selected when the child site was created, a page copied on the parent site will also be created on the child site.
- Linked pages cannot be copied.
Steps for copying a page
- Access the website from the Admin Console as a user with the ISC_ContentEditor and/or ISC_ContentAdmin roles.
- Hover over the blue triangle in the upper left corner of the website and select Show CMS.
- Click Content Tree in the upper left corner.
- Click Edit .
- From any non-system page, select the chevron and choose Copy Page.
- Enter the new page Name and click Save.
- The newly copied page is located at the bottom of the page hierarchy and is marked in orange to show it is not published.
- Once the page is ready, select the Publish button in the top-level toolbar.
