You can add users in Optimizely Configured Commerce using the import template. The template has data columns with user fields for Configured Commerce. You must format the cells in the spreadsheet as text to upload the data.
Template columns
The template has columns listed as one of the following:
- Required – A necessary customer data point.
- Recommended – Recommended but not necessary to create a customer.
- Optional – Optional based on the configuration of Configured Commerce features.
Console users
These are the columns in the Console Users template:
- User Name (required) – The email address or other login name
- First Name (recommended) – User's first name
- Last Name (recommended) – User's last name
- Email (required) – Properly formatted email address
- Password (optional) – Password to log in to the Admin Console. It must match the required specifications for length and special characters.
- Roles (optional) – Comma-separated list of roles assigned
- Phone (optional) – User's phone number
Website users
These are the columns in the Website Users template:
- User Name (required) – The email address or other login name
- First Name (recommended) – User's first name
- Last Name (recommended) – User's last name
- Email (required) – Properly formatted email address
- Password (recommended) – Password to log in to the storefront. It must match the required specifications for length and special characters.
- Company (optional) – User's company name
- Phone (optional) – User's phone number
- Default Customer (optional) – Customer number for the user's default customer
- Customers (optional) – Comma-separated list of assigned customers
- Websites (optional) – Comma-separated list of assigned websites
- Roles (optional) – Comma-separated list of assigned roles assigned
- Approver (optional) – The assigned approver within the organization if you are using order workflow
- Preferred Currency (optional) – The user's preferred currency
- Password Change Required (optional) – 0=false, 1=true. If you use a common email, set to 1.
- Language (optional) – The user's preferred language code
Import Users
To import users in Configured Commerce using the import template, follow these steps:
- Go to Administration > Console Users or Website Users.
- Click Upload.
- Ensure Console Users or Website Users is listed under What would you like to import?.
- Click Download template to download the import template.
- Populate the template with the necessary information, then save the template.
- Go to the Admin Console and select Choose File to browse for the template file.
- Choose from the Import Options. Select Send activation email to let the system send activation emails to each user in the template.
- Click Import.
