Using the import template provided within the Admin Console is a quick way to take existing user data and bring it into Configured Commerce. The template is pre-populated with data columns which represent the many user fields in Configured Commerce. This article provides an overview of how to effectively use the import template.
To successfully upload the data into Configured Commerce, the cells in the template spreadsheet must be formatted as text.
Template Columns
The template columns are broken down into the following groups:
- Required - These fields are customer data point that are necessary within Configured Commerce
- Recommended - These fields are recommended, but not necessary to create a viable customer in Configured Commerce
- Optional - These fields are optional based on the configuration of Configured Commerce features
The table below represents the columns in the Console Users template:

Import Users
To import Console users with the Configured Commerce user import template, complete the following steps.
- Go to Administration > Console Users.
- Select Importat the top of the page.
- Select Console Users from the drop-down, then select Download Template to download the import template.
- Populate the template with the necessary information. Ensure the data is formatted as Text, then save the template.
- Return to the Admin Console and select Choose File to browse for the template file.
- Choose from the Import Options at the bottom of the screen. Select Send activation email to allow the system to send activation emails to each user in the template.
- Select Import.
