The notifications tray gives you access to recent notifications without leaving your current page in Optimizely Opal. Use it to check on agent executions, review notifications, and take action, without opening the full Notification Center.
Access the notifications tray
The notifications tray is available from any page in Opal.
- Click Notifications in the global header to open the tray.
- Click Notifications again to close the tray.
Notifications displays a red badge with the unread count. The count updates when notifications arrive.
Notification details
Each notification in the notification tray includes the following details.
The following descriptions correspond to the numbered callouts in the previous image:
- Icon – A category-specific icon indicating the notification type.
- Title – A summary of the event. Unread notification titles display in bold.
- Message – Additional detail about the event.
- Timestamp – The time Opal created the notification.
- Unread indicator – A small red dot on unread notifications.
Filter notifications in the tray
The tray includes the following two tabs:
- All – Displays all notifications, both read and unread.
- Unread – Displays only unread notifications. The tab label includes the unread count (for example, Unread (7)).
Take action on notifications
The notifications tray supports the following actions.
Open a notification
Click any notification to go to the related content. Opal marks the notification as read. Depending on the notification type, Opal takes you to one of the following locations:
- Chat execution notifications – The chat thread where the execution ran.
- Workflow execution notifications – The workflow execution detail page.
Dismiss a notification
Hover over a notification to reveal Dismiss. Click Dismiss to permanently remove the notification.
Mark all as read
Click Mark all as read to mark all notifications as read. This applies to all notifications, not only the ones visible in the tray.
View all notifications
Click View all notifications to open the Notification Center. The Notification Center provides a full-page view with additional filtering and bulk actions. See Manage notifications in the Notification Center for details.
Real-time notifications
When a notification arrives, Opal displays a toast notification with the notification title. Click View in the toast to go to the related content. The unread count on Notifications updates immediately.
Opal suppresses toast notifications when you are already viewing the related thread or execution.
