Unknown Error (0x80005000)

Ektron Windows Service is not starting; Event Viewer, Security Configurator, or Debugging output shows the following:

1) Check 'Windows features' or 'Role Services' for IIS6 Metabase compatibility, add if missing:

2) If that fails you may have a corrupt metabase.xml file in the system32\inetsrv folder. 

1. First rename the current metabase.xml file in this folder.
   C:\Windows\System32\Inetsrv\
2. Copy a previous version of that file that is from a date when Ektron Windows Service starts were working from the below directory into the \Inetsrv folder. 
   C:\Windows\System32\Inetsrv\History
3. Attempt a restart of the Ektron Windows Service and check to see that the service started successfully. 

Server 2019 Instructions

1. Open Server Manager.
2. In the Server Roles section enable IIS 6 Metabase compatibility.
