Create a brand

  • Updated

Create a brand in Optimizely Opal from existing material, or start from scratch and build it yourself. This article covers how to find your brands and two ways to create one.

Explore your brands

In Opal, go to Context > Brands. The Brands tab lists every brand in your organization.

Each brand displays as a card. The card displays the brand name, status, template count, last updated date, and channels. Use the Brands tab to do the following:

  • Search for a brand by name.
  • Filter by status: All, Published, or Draft.
  • Select New Brand to create a brand.

Create a brand

To create a brand, complete the following steps in Opal:

  1. Go to Context > Brands.
  2. Click New Brand.
  3. Select Create Brand or Import JSON.
  4. Skip to the corresponding section in this documentation for additional steps.

Create with Opal (recommended)

The dialog asks for a name. Opal builds the brand from sources you provide. Use this path when you already have brand material.

  1. Provide one or more of the following sources:
    • A website URL for the brand.
    • One or more brand guidelines PDFs.
    • A URL for an existing public brand site or portal.
  2. Start the build.

Opal reviews the sources and extracts the brand signals, such as colors, typefaces, and voice. It populates the brand and labels it AI extracted. Review and refine the result in the brand manager before you publish. See Manage a brand.

Import from JSON

Import from JSON to quickly add a brand that has already been created. Paste the JSON or import from your computer. After importing, review your brand before publishing. See Manage a brand.
