Publish a brand to make it available to Optimizely Opal, then use it to generate on-brand content. This article covers publishing, versioning, and using a brand.
Publish a brand
Publishing makes a brand available to Opal. When you publish, Opal creates a skill with the same name as the brand.
You cannot edit a brand skill directly. Manage it through the brand instead. Update the brand and publish it again to update the skill. Updating takes a few minutes. Opal sends you a notification when it finishes.
A brand skill includes a Brand Skill toggle. This makes the brand's assets available in the image generator, so you can choose approved starting images.
To publish a brand complete the following steps in Opal:
- Go to Context > Brands.
- Click the brand.

Click Publish.
Versions and rollback
Opal versions each brand. The History page lists each published version. Restore a previous version to make it the latest version. For example, restoring version five creates it as the new latest version.
Export the brand data
To export the brand's structured data, click Export JSON. Use the export for engineering handoff or another system.
What changes when you republish
Republishing or rolling back does not change content you already generated. Opal checks against the brand and uses the updated brand after it changes.

Generate on-brand images in chat
In Opal chat, complete the following steps:
- Click Add.
- Select Brand.

Click a brand.

Choose a starting image or Create from Scratch.
- Describe the changes you want.
The chat stays connected to the brand you selected. Opal edits the approved starting image and keeps the output within the brand's colors, typefaces, and visual identity.
The starting images come from the brand's templates, restricted to images. To switch brands, use the template selection drop-down list.
