You can upload your existing assets into the platform, creating a single source for storing and accessing anything. To do so, take the time to examine each of your teams, organizations, and repositories and gather the assets you need.
The library functionality (where your assets are stored) is driven by the taxonomy that you built with your onboarding team - you will want to retroactively apply it to these existing assets.
To do so, there are two components to your asset ingestion: assets, and a spreadsheet to connect them to Fields, both of which are uploaded to your secure file transfer protocol (SFTP).
Fields mirror your marketing organization's content taxonomy, letting you organize and filter your marketing content and activities across every Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP) module. For information on Fields, see Setting up fields.
Upload assets to SFTP
With SFTP, you can transfer many file formats (such as Word documents, images, PDFs, Videos, PowerPoint and so on) to CMP for ingestion.
You should rename files that are unclear for better search results and user experience. For example:
Prepare asset spreadsheet
Tagging items – in a spreadsheet CMP provides – with a taxonomy ensures that assets are fully searchable and accessible in the CMP. Your spreadsheet will contain some standard fields for linking (such as File Name) and your taxonomy. The spreadsheet looks similar to the following:
