You can import your existing articles into the platform so that you have a holistic view of your content production - past, present, and future.
As part of the import, each article is assigned to a Task and a Campaign to fit it into the structure of the platform and give you a unified experience in finding your previously created content. Furthermore, you can assign Fields to these articles, so they are searchable in the same way as content you create in the platform.
You can generate tracking pixels for the content you created outside of the platform. You can then view data from these articles into Analytics, creating a single source-of-truth for your content performance.
In this article, you will learn to how to prepare the spreadsheet to import your existing articles into the platform. Articles must be add to the spreadsheet in HTML format, which are rendered into a web-view in the same way as your other Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP)-created content.
Your spreadsheet will initially look something like this:

Although the Publish Date and Publication Channel are not mandatory, adding these will also add time to the import.
YourField1 is a placeholder value - your Implementation Consultant will fill this in with your own taxonomy. When it comes to fields, the values are dynamic to the values you select in putting your taxonomy together.
After you complete your spreadsheet, notify your CMP onboarding team so that they can begin the process. Allow up to four weeks for this to be completed, depending on the volume of articles you want to import.
