The log collector helps to gather information quickly and easily to troubleshoot issues with support for all issue types but is most useful for eSync and Solr. When you run into an issue, if you run the log collector it will package up a lot of the necessary information support will request when submitting an issue so feel free to attach the logs collected with any new support ticket you create.
The log collector may be updated from time to time. Please download the most recent version when you need to run it.
For generic issues, run the utility on the server you are experiencing the issue on.
Download the log collector.
For Solr issues complete the following:
- Download the log collector.
- Run the log collector on the Solr machine
- Change the radio button in the top left to Collect Solr Logs
For eSync issues complete the following:
Please do the following on both the sending and receiving servers (please include any load balanced servers)
- Download the log collector.
- Skip to step 5 if you are using versions 8.5 or below, otherwise continue.
- Find the Ektron.ASM.EktronServices40.exe.config file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ektron\EktronWindowsService40
- In that file Set DebugEnabled = 1 and DebugLogLevel = 4.
- Run or wait for the next sync to Complete or Fail.
- Copy the text from the sync status window and save it to notepad to send to us.
- Run the tool you downloaded in step 1, select the root folder of your website, then click the relevant "Save Logs" Button please send us this zip it outputs.
