The HubSpot Marketing Segment Sync integration allows you to sync your Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) segments and customer data to HubSpot for email/workflow targeting and customer profile data enrichment.
Enable the integration in ODP
To enable the HubSpot Marketing Segment Sync integration in ODP:
- Go to the App Directory.
- Select the HupSpot Marketing Segment Sync app.
- Click Install App.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click Authorize to authorize your HubSpot account's connection with ODP.
- Select the HubSpot account you want to connect and click Choose Account.
- On the Zaius App Permission window, click Allow.
We are still working on rebranding everything from Zaius to Optimizely.
Configure the data sync
First, create a campaign to sync your ODP segments and data to HubSpot on either a one-time or recurring basis. Then, within that campaign, add a touchpoint with HubSpot Marketing Segment Sync as the channel. Configure that touchpoint to either sync to a HubSpot list or to a HubSpot workflow.
Create a campaign
- Go to Activation > Engage.
- Click Create New Campaign.
- To sync your segments and data once, click One-Time. To set up an automated, recurring sync, click Behavioral.
- Click Create From Scratch.
- Enter a name for your campaign that represents the data you are syncing to HubSpot (for example, Purchased 90 Days Ago).
- Select your desired segment and click Apply or click Create New Segment, select your desired segment conditions, and click Save.
- Expand Enrollment Rules and toggle the must not have matched this campaign in the last 7 days setting off.
This should not affect a one-time campaign, but turning this setting off ensures you will not have any issues if you rerun this campaign.
Add a touchpoint
- Within your campaign, expand Touchpoints.
- Click to edit Touchpoint 1 and select HubSpot Marketing Segment Sync.
- Complete the following fields in the Configure section:
- Sync as Marketable Contacts – Toggle on if you want your ODP contacts to be Marketable Contacts in HubSpot. If not, toggle off.
- Target – Select Contact List if you want to sync to a HubSpot list or select Workflow if you want to sync to a HubSpot workflow.
- Contact List or Workflow – The name of this dropdown list matches what you selected for the Target field above. Select either the HubSpot contact list or workflow to which you want to send your ODP contacts.
You must first set up either a static list or a workflow in HubSpot before you can select it in ODP.
- Primary Key – Defaults to
{{customer.email}}
. - Number of Additional Fields – (Optional) Select the number of additional HubSpot data fields you want to sync (up to 4).
A dropdown list and input field displays for the number of additional fields you selected. In each Field # dropdown list, select the HubSpot field you want to populate. In each corresponding Field # Value, enter the ODP customer attribute you want to send into the selected HubSpot field. For example, if you selected First Name from the Field # dropdown list, enter
{{customer.first_name}}
for the corresponding Field # Value.
- Click Save and then click your campaign name in the breadcrumb trail at the top of the page.
- Click Select start time and schedule.
- For a recurring sync (behavioral campaign), select Recurring and set your desired Start Date and Timing.
End defaults to Never. If you want to end the HubSpot integration on a specific date, set that here. Ensure that Repeats is set to Daily, Repeat Every is set to 1 day, and Delivery Strategy is set to Send all at scheduled time. Click Apply.
- For a one-time sync (one-time campaign), enter the Send Date and Send Time.
Ensure that Delivery Strategy is set to Send all at scheduled time. Click Apply.
- Click Save and then click Go Live. Your sync starts at your designated start date/time.
