Task templates

  • Updated

To create tasks that you repeat regularly, Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP) lets you create task templates. You can save the commonly used data in these templates so that you do not have to enter them every time you create a task. You can customize the task normally, after creating it from a template.  Create task templates in three ways.

Create a task template from within a task

In a task, click More (...) and select Save as template. This saves a copy of the task as a template.

To access this template, go to your avatar > Templates Tasks

Duplicate and edit a template

  1. Go to your avatar > Templates Task
  2. On the task template that you want to duplicate, click More (...) > Duplicate. This creates a copy of the task template.

To edit a template, click to open the template and edit it like you make changes to any task. See Manage tasks for information.

Apply a template when you create a task

After you create a task template, use it to create tasks that repeat.

  1. From the top navigation menu, click Add (+) and select Task. The Create New Task window displays.
  2. Search for and select your template of choice from the Task Template dropdown menu. When you select a template, a warning message displays to notify you that any details you already entered in the task creation form gets overwritten by the template you select. Click Proceed to continue.
  3. After selecting the template, you can make changes to the fields and add details for the task. Click Create when you are done.
