Translate product details

With Optimizely Product Information Management (PIM), you can use Google's advanced Translations API to auto-translate all text-based properties of a product for your configured languages.

You must run the Synch Setup Data job to enable translations. Go to Job Definitions > PIM Sync Setup Data > More > Schedule Job.

  1. Go to a product and click Add Translation.

  2. Select the language. These languages are the ones you have added to PIM. PIM only supports languages supported by Google, and they must follow Google's standards to avoid errors.

  3. Click Add. The translated text fields display beside the default field values.

    Always check the output to see if it translated correctly. AI can be a great assistant to get you started, but it can also make mistakes. If you need to re-translate content with AI, delete the old translation first, then run the translation again

  4. (Optional) Edit field values to keep any custom translations.

  5. Click Save.
