Event Segmentation - Overview

An Event Segmentation in Analytics enables the study of specific events initiated by distinct user groups, showing their actions within your product.

Running an Event Segmentation analysis helps you measure things like:

  • Analyzing the frequency/count of events during a specified time frame.
  • Determining the count of unique users triggering events.
  • Determining the average event count per user.

The screenshot that follows shows an event segmentation analysis that shows the Top categories in the Flix streaming app by total number of plays in the last 30 days. This analysis is segregated by category ID. See Understanding an Event Segmentation Analysis for more information.
