Sync your data from Swym to Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) to personalize your customer engagement based on individual shopping journeys.
Integration features
- Send automatic Wishlist reminder emails.
- Enable customers to sign up for restock alerts on out-of-stock and pre-order products. Automatically notify them when those products are back in stock.
- Send price drop and low stock alerts on Wishlist items.
- Capture customers' email addresses through the Sywm apps and let them sign up for your marketing campaigns.
- Track user activity (like adding items to their wishlist) and incorporate it into your ODP flows.
Install Swym apps
To use the ODP integration, you need to install the Wishlist Plus, Back in Stock Alerts, and Engage apps on your ecommerce store to capture shopper activity on your sites and create and send automated marketing campaigns to the shoppers.
Update API app consent setting
You only need to complete the instructions in this section if your app consent setting for the API channel is set to Opted Out. This setting must be set to Opted In for this app to successfully send data.
- Go to Settings > App Consent Settings in ODP.

Set the Api app's Default Consent to Opted In.
- Click Update Consent in the confirmation prompt.
Enable the integration
Sync data from Swym to ODP
- Go to Data Setup > App Directory in ODP.
- Select the Swym app.
- Click Install App.
Configure API settings in Swym
Configure the following additional settings in Swym to enable data sync between Swym and ODP:
- Generate your ODP public API key.
- Select the shopper events you are interested in tracking and triggering automatic campaigns for (like adding to a wishlist or signing up for a back-in-stock alert).
- Select the email template IDs for these campaign messages. The templates will need to be created in ODP.
Create email templates in ODP
- Log in to ODP.
- Go to Activations > Overview.
- Click Create New Campaign and select from the types of campaigns.
- Click Create from Scratch.
- Select an existing segment or click Create New Segment to create your own.
- Expand Touchpoints to edit Touchpoint 1 and select Swym from the list of channels.
- Edit your Target.
- Toggle Merge Tags on and select the Number of Merge Tags to enable Swym merge tags for the campaign's dynamic product attributes.
- Click Save to save the campaign.
- Click Preview to preview the campaign and Test to send a test campaign.
Events supported by Swym integration
The Swym integration ensures that the right events are triggered, and the relevant metadata is dispatched to ODP, which in turn sends the emails to the shoppers. The following events are currently supported by the integration:
- Add to Wishlist events (for Wishlist reminders)
- Price drop alerts on Wishlist items
- Back-in-stock and low stock alerts on Wishlist items
- Back-in-stock alerts on explicit user requests (through the Swym Back in Stock Alerts app)
- Wishlist aggregate events (count of total Wishlist adds for a given product)
