Use the News Page page type to add press releases, new product information, or other company news to your website. To create a news article, the user must have a content editor role, content approver role, or content administrator role assigned.
Add a news list page
The new list page displays any of your news articles with Read More links to the articles.
- Go to View Website and toggle on Content Editor.
- Select the website.
- Click Edit.
- Click More Options next to Home in the Page Tree, then select Add Page. If a tertiary subpage menu is desired, create the new page from the appropriate secondary page.
- Enter a name for SEO Title and URL Segment, if you want it to be different from the Display Name you entered previously.
- Add Meta Keywords and a Meta Description for SEO as needed.
- Enter page Tags. You can use these terms to filter pages in the Spire CMS from the page tree. Please click Enter on your keyboard after typing the desired word as multiple tags can be entered.
- Select whether to Hide Breadcrumbs.
- Add Open Graph information and select from multiple options in the Advanced tab, such as Exclude from Sign In Required, if desired.
- Click Save. The page automatically has the News List View widget.
- Publish the page.
Create news articles
- Click More Options next to your news list page in the Page Tree, then select Add Page.
- Enter a Display Name.
- Select NewsListPage for Page Type.
- Select a Layout, if desired.
- Click Continue.
- Enter a name for SEO Title and URL Segment, if you want it to be different from the Display Name you entered previously.
- Set a Publish Date.
- Add an Author, if desired. You can add multiple authors, separated by commas
- Enter the News Content.
- Add any News Summary, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, or Tags, if desired.
- Add Open Graph information and select from multiple options in the Advanced tab, such as Exclude from Sign In Required, if desired.
- Click Save. The page automatically puts the content into the News Page View widget.
- Click Publish.
