Change variant and attribute language

To provide a more consistent language experience, Optimizely Configured Commerce allows translation of both product variants and attributes to display the chosen language. 

Change language for variants

The following steps assume the variants already exist. For information on setting up variant types, see the Product variants section.

  1. Go to Admin Console > Administration > Translation Dictionary
  2. Search for the variant types (Source value is "StyleTrait").
  3. Click More Options and choose Generate Records to ensure all options are listed.
  4. Click Edit adjacent to the desired Variant. Select one or more checkboxes to modify multiple variants and click Edit in the Secondary Toolbar.
  5. Choose the desired Language.
  6. Enter the translated variant name.
  7. Click Save or Save and Next.
  8. Rebuild the Product Search Index:
    1. Go to Marketing > Search > Indexing.
    2. Click Full Rebuild for the Product Search Index.

You may need to clear the Application Cache within the Admin Console to see the updated translations. Select Debug > Clear Cache. The Debugging tool is only available to users assigned ISC_System or ISC_Implementer roles.

Change the language for attributes

The following steps assume the attributes already exist. For information on setting up attributes, see Manage attributes.

  1. Go to Admin Console > Administration > Translation Dictionary
  2. Search for the Attribute Types (Source value is "Attribute").
  3. Click More Options and choose Generate Records to ensure all options are listed.
  4. Click Edit adjacent to the desired Attribute. Select one or more checkboxes to modify multiple attributes and click Edit in the Secondary Toolbar.
  5. Choose the desired Language.
  6. Enter the translated attribute name.
  7. Click Save or Save and Next.
  8. Rebuild the Product Search Index:
    1. In the Primary Navigation, click Marketing > Search > Indexing.
    2. Click Full Rebuild for the Product Search Index.

You may need to clear the Application Cache within the Admin Console to see the updated translations. Select Debug > Clear Cache. The Debugging tool is only available to users assigned the ISC_System or ISC_Implementer roles.
