Mandatory asset fields

With Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP), you can make asset fields mandatory in the Library and in tasks so users know which fields are required.

Turn on mandatory fields

Library

1. Go to your avatar > Fields.
2. Click More (...) > Edit beside the label you want to edit, such as Content Format.
3. Go to Advanced Settings.
   
4. Select the box for Library Asset Upload.
5. Click Update.

This setting applies only to assets in the Library.

Workflows and tasks

1. Go to your avatar > Workflows.
2. Click More (...) > Edit beside the workflow you want to edit.
3. Go to the Fields tab.
4. Add your fields.

5. Click More (...) to see options:

   • Asset Fields only – Only show the fields for the asset within a task, rather than show the fields at the task-level.
   • Mandatory – Make the field required to complete the task.

   If you use both options together, users must complete the asset fields before completing the task.

   

6. Click Save.

When users upload an asset to a task in the workflow, they see the required fields.

If a user tries to complete the task before filling in the required fields, an error message displays that they must complete those fields.
