User migration for administrators
Overview
Opti ID is the single sign-on (SSO) solution for Optimizely products (see also Overview of Opti ID). It can be used for logging in to Campaign. Both Campaign and Opti ID identify a user by his email address.
If Campaign users want to use Opti ID to log in, their login type must be set to opti-id. The login type can be changed by Campaign administrators. Doing this has immediate effects. If the user does not yet have an Opti ID account:
- The user's old login credentials no longer work and he can not use Campaign until he has completed setting up his Opti ID account.
- An Opti ID account for the user is automatically created, and...
- ...an invitation for Opti ID is sent to the user's email address.
If the user already has an Opti ID account with the same user name (email address):
- The Campaign and Opti ID accounts are linked and the user can log in to Campaign with his Opti ID account.
Migrating a user
Prerequisites: You are logged in in Campaign. You have the permission Manage users.
- In the menu bar, go to Administration > Users.
- If required: Adjust the values in the fields Client and Filter User so that the user appears in the list.
- Select the user.
- Click Edit User Properties.
→ The page Edit User Data is displayed. - In the field Set an Identity Provider to be used for login, select opti-id.
- Click Finish.
→ If the user does not yet exist in Opti ID, an account is automatically created in Opti ID and receives an invitation email for Opti ID. The user must use Opti ID to access Campaign.
Login for users
Joining Opti ID and logging in to Campaign
Context: This is how you set up your new Opti ID account for use with Campaign and other Optimizely products.
Prerequisites: You have received an invitation email for Opti ID.
- In your invitation email, click the link Activate Optimizely Account.
→ The page Set up security methods displays in your browser. - In the section Password, click Set up.
→ The page Set up password displays. - In the field Enter password, enter a password that adheres to the rules listed on the page.
Note: Store your password in a secure location! - In the field Re-enter password, enter the password again to make sure there are no typos.
- Click Next.
→ The page Set up security methods displays.
Note: You can optionally set up an additional security method here (phone or Okta app). - Click Continue.
→ You are logged in in Campaign.
Logging in to Campaign with Opti ID
Context: Campaign automatically redirects users with the Opti ID login type to the Optimizely login.
Prerequisites: You have an Opti ID account and a Campaign account that uses Opti ID.
- In the browser, go to campaign.episerver.net.
- Enter the email address that is your Opti ID user name.
- Click Continue.
→ You are forwarded to the Opti ID login page. - Enter your Opti ID Password and click Verify.
→ You are logged in to Opti ID and forwarded to Campaign.
