GEO Schema Optimization agent

Optimizely Opal's GEO Schema Optimization agent lets you enhance your content's visibility and large language model (LLM) discoverability by automatically identifying opportunities for structured data markup. Opal analyzes page content and recommends (or generates) appropriate schema types and markup snippets from CMS (SaaS) or an external domain. This helps you increase Search Engine Optimization (SEO) richness, AI citation potential, and contextual relevance across both search engines and LLMs. 

  • Challenge – Ensuring that GEO-specific content is correctly structured with schema markup can be complex, often leading to under-optimized local search performance and missed opportunities for rich search results.
  • Agent outcome – The agent analyzes your CMS (SaaS) content and external URLs for GEO-related schema, identifies gaps, and automatically adds or populates JSON-LD with accurate, real content to enhance local SEO.
  • Value – You can optimize your GEO-schema to improve your visibility in local search results, increase the chances of appearing in rich snippets, and drive more relevant local traffic to your business.

Install agent

Opal Administrators, Agent Builders, and users with the Add, edit, and install specialized agents  attribute for a custom role can add agents to their organization's Optimizely Opal instance. See Add users and set permissions.

In Opal

  1. Go to Agents > Agent Directory.
  2. Select GEO Schema Optimization.

  3. Click Install Agent to add it to your instance.

If Install Agent is disabled, ensure you have the Required Optimizely products connected to your Opal instance.

Use

To use the GEO Schema Optimization agent in a workflow agent, drag and drop it into your workflow. See the Configure workflow section in the Create a workflow agent documentation.

Details

The following are the default details of the GEO Schema Optimization agent. After you install the agent in your Opal instance, you can customize these details based on your organization's needs. See Manage agents for instructions.

Input variables

CMS (SaaS) automatically shares the input variables with Opal when using Opal Chat from within CMS (SaaS).

If you are using Opal Chat from the Opal app interface, you can share them directly.
