The Page Performance Evaluation agent in Optimizely Opal runs a full Google Lighthouse audit on any live URL. The audit covers Performance, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Accessibility, and Best Practices. It cross-references findings against a visual screenshot to catch issues automated tools miss. Instead of surfacing scores, it pinpoints root causes and delivers specific fixes with real metric values, ranked by impact.

Install the Page Performance Evaluation agent

Opal Administrators, Agent Builders, and users with the Add, edit, and install specialized agents  attribute for a custom role can add agents to their organization's Optimizely Opal instance. See Add users and set permissions.

Install the Page Performance Evaluation agent to make it available in Opal Chat and in workflow agents. Complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Agents > Agent Directory.

  2. Select Page Performance Evaluation.

  3. Click Install Agent to add it to your instance.

Use the Page Performance Evaluation agent

Run the Page Performance Evaluation agent from Opal Chat on any live URL. Provide a page URL and optional instructions to start the audit.

In Opal Chat, enter @page_performance_evaluation and provide the following details:

  • Page URL – Enter the URL of your page.
  • (Optional) Additional Details – Additional instructions. For example, mobile assessment only.

To use the Page Performance Evaluation agent in a workflow agent, drag and drop it into your workflow. For instructions, see Configure workflow agent.

The Page Performance Evaluation agent uses the following default configuration. After you Install the Page Performance Evaluation agent, customize these details based on your organization's needs. See Manage agents for instructions.
