The Page Copy Optimization agent in Optimizely Opal analyzes your live page copy. It generates optimized versions tailored for clarity, conversion, and message-market fit. Message-market fit describes how well your copy connects with your target audience's specific needs and language. The agent benchmarks your messaging directly against competitor pages and delivers ready-to-use copy grounded in competitive insight.
- Challenge – Writing high-performing page copy is difficult without a clear benchmark. You start from scratch or rely on internal assumptions about your audience. Without visibility into how your messaging compares to competitors, your copy fails to resonate, differentiate, or convert.
- Agent outcome – Produces optimized copy variants ready for use or testing. Each version maps to the target audience, conversion goal, and competitive positioning you provide.
- Value – You move from competitive insight to stronger on-page messaging in minutes. By replacing guesswork with audience-specific, goal-driven copy, you sharpen your value proposition and improve conversion rates.

Use the Page Copy Optimization agent
Use the agent in Opal Chat to generate optimized copy variants for any page. Provide the page URL and any optional parameters that shape the output.
In Opal Chat, enter @page_copy_optimization and provide the following details:
- Page URL or Content – Enter a URL to analyze the live page, or paste the page copy directly.
- (Optional) Primary Audience – Describe the target reader. Include their role, company size or segment, and their single biggest pain point. The more specific, the better. Example: "VP of Marketing at a 300–1000 person B2B software-as-a-service (SaaS) company, frustrated that their dev team is a bottleneck for running experiments."
- (Optional) Primary Conversion Goal – State the primary action the page must drive, and optionally a secondary goal. Example: "Primary: Request a Demo. Secondary: Download the return on investment (ROI) case study." The primary goal governs call-to-action (CTA) copy and urgency framing. The secondary goal informs supporting CTAs and mid-page hooks.
- (Optional) Competitor to Benchmark – Paste up to three full competitor page URLs (not just brand names).
- (Optional) Brand Tone – Provide three tone adjectives and one contrast statement. Describe what the brand sounds like and what it does not sound like. Example: "Authoritative, Clear, Warm — like a trusted enterprise advisor, not a pushy sales pitch."
- (Optional) Key Value Props to Preserve – List two to three claims or differentiators that must not be rewritten away. Example: "Zero page flicker, Stats Engine accuracy, No-code editor." The agent retains and reinforces these claims in the optimized copy rather than replacing them.
