OCP connector tools

  • Released the Figma connector tools in Opal, which let you access Figma's design data, facilitate collaboration workflows, and automate the handoff process between designers and developers.

Agents

  • Released an update for the Technical SEO Auditor agent, including the addition of two new tools, create_canvas and convert_to_pdf. The update includes the following improvements:

    • Clear report metadata (generation date, devices assessed, and page URL).
    • Straightforward executive summary section.
    • Improved structure and professional appearance.
    • Clean PDF export capability.

  • Released the Experiment Review agent for Feature Experimentation, which lets you Run a pre-launch experiment review with Opal. The agent reviews your Feature Experimentation experiment configuration and recommends changes to maximize your odds of reaching statistical significance.

Tools

Opal Chat

  • Added a scroll bar and max height to the Opal Chat input box, making it easier to enter prompts and agent calls.
  • Added thumbnails of images when you upload them in Opal Chat, letting you easily see which images are being uploaded to Opal.

Tools

  • Added a requirement that custom tool's names and tool registry names be unique across an Opal instance. Some customers may have multiple Opal instances in same organization, so now the registry and tool names need to be unique for that one instance. This lets you have duplicate names for the tools or registries across different Opal instances in the same organization.
  • Released system tools for Campaign and Configured Commerce, making it easier to view your campaigns in Optimizely Campaign and help you interact with the Configured Commerce Admin Console, such as analyzing your site's error logs or retrieving information about a product or customer order.
  • Updated the send_email tool to display an interaction island for you to confirm sending the email from Opal Chat. This ensures Opal does not perform actions  automatically without your approval.

Optimizely released the following system tools for Optimizely Data Platform (ODP):

  • suggest_odp_audiences – Suggests new real-time audiences you can create in ODP based on your existing schema.
  • odp_get_audience_list – Returns the list of existing real-time audience IDs within the connected ODP instance. 
  • odp_get_audience_by_id – Retrieves the full configuration and metadata for a specific real-time audience. 
  • create_odp_audiences – Creates a real-time audience based on a natural-language description.

Optimizely released the following system tools for Content Recommendations:

  • contentrecs_top_content – Retrieves the top-performing content items, ranked by user interactions, from Optimizely Content Recommendations.
  • contentrecs_top_topics – Retrieves performance metrics for the most engaging topics, based on user interactions, from Optimizely Content Recommendations.
  • contentrecs_top_recommendation_widgets – Analyzes recommendation widget performance in Optimizely Content Recommendations.

Opal Chat

  • Released canvas, a dynamic and collaborative environment for building, customizing, and delivering interactive digital assets, applications, and complex content with Opal. This workspace lets you create and manage digital assets in real-time. 
  • Added a View Agents button in new chat threads which displays the last three modified agents in your Opal instance, letting you easily call new agents. See Access Opal Chat.

Tools

  • Updated the browse_web tool to improve the JSON-LD extraction for schema markup analysis. The tool now reliably pulls structured data from <script type="application/ld+json"> tags. See the Browse the web section of the System tools overview documentation
  • Added a label displaying how many tools you have Enabled in Chat on the Tools page. As you can only have 128 tools enabled at a time, this helps you manage your tools easier. See Tools overview and Manage tools
  • Updated the message that displays when you enable or disable a tool on the Tools page. See Tools page overview.
  • Rearranged the location of the Restore tools for chat button. See step nine in the Tools page overview.
  • Released the canvas tools for help managing canvases in Opal Chat.
  • Added the create_powerpoint_canvas and update_powerpoint_canvas tools to let you create a new interactive canvas from an existing PowerPoint presentation and update an existing PowerPoint canvas by modifying the underlying .pptx file.   • Released the analyze_pagespeed tool that analyzes a webpage's performance, SEO, or accessibility using Google PageSpeed Insights.

OCP connector tools

  • Released the Looker connector tools which help you retrieve dashboards, run reports, search content, and use Looker data inside automated workflows.
  • Released the Fullstory connector tools which let you interact with your Fullstory account to retrieve user session links, behavioral summaries, and work with Fullstory segments.
  • Released the Zapier Remote MCP connector tool which lets Opal access over 7000 apps available in Zapier.

Opal platform

  • Updated the Tools page to include the following filters: Provider, Active Status, and Enabled in Chat. These filters help you quickly find the specific tools you are interested in.
  • Rearranged the Tools page to be sorted alphabetically, which helps you find tools quicker.
  • Added the total count of tools Enabled in Chat out of a total of 128 to the Tools page. This count helps you monitor the number of active tools, as an Opal instance supports a maximum of 128 active tools.

Agents

Opal Chat

  • Added Mention Agent in Opal Chat, which helps you see the available agents and to call the correct agent.
  • Updated the text copy for deleting a chat thread to Delete thread, making it clearer that only the selected chat thread is deleted. See Opal Chat user interface in the Optimizely Opal Chat documentation. 

Tools

  • Improved the get_cmp_resource_files tool to be able to process Microsoft Office files larger than 50 MB using smart chunking, helping you edit larger files with ease. See the Get section in the System tools for Content Marketing Platform (CMP) documentation.

  • Updated the UI for registering Google Analytics (GA4) and Profound connector tools in Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP). The Opal tab has been removed, and its functionality is now available as an accordion on the Settings tab. This change simplifies the authentication and registration process by consolidating related settings, removing the need to switch between multiple tabs.

Optimizely Reporting for Opal

  • Added the Opal Agent Usage dashboard, which displays a table with the agent IDs in your product instances along with the total number of credits consumed by each agent. This lets you easily monitor and compare credit usage across agents and plan your Opal credits usage accordingly.

  • Updated the system tool registries to be globally unique, which prevents naming conflicts.
  • Rearranged the system tools listing on the Tools page to clearly indicate which tools are applicable with specific Optimizely products, improving tool discoverability and user experience.
  • Improved the tooltips throughout the Opal platform to provide clearer and more helpful contextual information. 

Agents

  • Rearranged the steps in the specialized agent creation process for a more intuitive and streamlined workflow. 
  • Added a notification and alert that displays if a specialized agent is saved with variables not used in the prompt template, helping prevent configuration errors. See the Define input variables section in the Create specialized agent documentation.
  • Added a confirmation page that displays when you delete an agent, preventing accidental deletions.
  • Improved the Test run output UI when testing an agent, providing clearer and more comprehensive results. 
  • Added the ability to click Stop Execution to end a test of an agent, saving time and resources.

  • Expanded the When to use section by default when creating Instructions to provide more comprehensive guidance.

  • Released the AI variation development agent for Web Experimentation and Personalization, which helps you modify and update existing website elements, create new ones, and generate and apply enhancement suggestions, while maintaining brand consistency by automatically retrieving page styles. 
  • Added the Experiment Review Agent for Web Experimentation, which lets you use Optimizely Opal to review your experiment configuration and recommend changes to maximize your odds of reaching statistical significance.

Opal Platform

  • Released the ability to update the default inference level used in Opal Chat.
  • Added the ability to give feedback on Opal's responses by clicking Thumbs up or Thumbs down.
  • Introduced Opal in Microsoft Copilot, which lets you use Opal directly in Copilot. You can do everything you can do in Opal Chat, including creating and managing campaigns, generating and editing images, analyzing experiment results, and executing AI agents.
  • Included Opal in Google Agentspace, which lets Opal exchange structured messages with other AI agents to coordinate complex, multi-step work inside a single workflow across vendors and frameworks, leveraging the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol.

New default agents

Optimizely released the following default agents that administrators can install through the Agent directory.

  • Content model creation agent – Analyzes URLs or images to build best-practice Content Management System (CMS) (SaaS) content models, referencing existing models to prevent duplicates and ensure architectural integrity.
  • Generative engine optimization (GEO) recommendations agent – Audits webpages for large language model (LLM) discoverability, retrievability, and understandability to deliver actionable recommendations to optimize content for generative search
  • Heatmap analysis agent – Transforms a heatmap image and URL you provide into precise, tailored test ideas.
  • Experiment planning agent – Transforms your raw ideas into a fully-formed test plan, complete with suggested hypotheses, key metrics, identified risks, and critical assumptions.

New tools

Optimizely released the following system tools:

Content types

  • cms_create_content_type – Creates a new content type in CMS (SaaS).
  • cms_delete_content_type – Performs a non-disruptive deletion of a content type in CMS (SaaS).
  • cms_get_content_type_details – Gets full details of a content type, including properties, from CMS (SaaS).
  • cms_list_content_types – Gets a list of content types, excluding properties, from CMS (SaaS).
  • cms_update_content_type – Updates an existing content type in CMS (SaaS) using a "JSON Merge Patch" algorithm.

GEO

  • cms_geo_analysis – Analyze content with AI for generative optimization opportunities.
  • cms_geo_apply – Apply JSON-LD schema templates to CMS (SaaS) content.

Get content

  • cms_get_content_data – Get the data from a specific content instance in CMS (SaaS), this tool requires a specific key. Use search if the user only provides keywords.
  • cms_search_graph – Full-text search in CMS (SaaS) using Optimizely Graph. 

Property groups

  • cms_create_property_group – Create a property group used for content type properties in CMS (SaaS).
  • cms_list_property_groups – Lists property groups in the CMS (SaaS). 

Search engine optimization (SEO)

  • cms_seo_analysis – Analyze content search engine optimization (SEO) performance, and get AI-powered recommendations.
  • cms_seo_edit – Edit and apply SEO recommendations to CMS (SaaS) content. 

Optimizely released the following tools that administrators can install through Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP):

  • Google Analytics (GA4) – Lets you ask and visualize any question about your web traffic that you track in GA4.
