Opal Chat
- Added a scroll bar and max height to the Opal Chat input box, making it easier to enter prompts and agent calls.
- Added thumbnails of images when you upload them in Opal Chat, letting you easily see which images are being uploaded to Opal.
Tools
- Added a requirement that custom tool's names and tool registry names be unique across an Opal instance. Some customers may have multiple Opal instances in same organization, so now the registry and tool names need to be unique for that one instance. This lets you have duplicate names for the tools or registries across different Opal instances in the same organization.
- Released system tools for Campaign and Configured Commerce, making it easier to view your campaigns in Optimizely Campaign and help you interact with the Configured Commerce Admin Console, such as analyzing your site's error logs or retrieving information about a product or customer order.
- Updated the
send_emailtool to display an interaction island for you to confirm sending the email from Opal Chat. This ensures Opal does not perform actions automatically without your approval.
Agents
- Added breadcrumbs to agents and instructions to easily return to the previous page.
- Added a toggle to enable or disable specialized agents in Opal Chat, letting you restrict agent usage. See step six in Initial configuration section in the Create specialized agents documentation.
- Improved the ability to reliably call agents through @ mention in Opal Chat.
- Added icons in the Agent Directory to indicate if an agent is activated in your Opal instance or if a new version is available, making it easy to quickly identify agent information.
- Removed the force override toggle in the Agent Directory in favor of the option to update the agent, streamlining the update process. See Update an agent in the agent directory.
- Added the ability to delete a variable in the variable page, letting you easily delete unneeded variables.
- Added the ability to delete an agent from the Agent page using the More options (...) menu. This makes it even easier to delete agents and removes additional steps.

- Added a View Agents button in new chat threads which displays the last three modified agents in your Opal instance, letting you easily call new agents. See Access Opal Chat.
Agents
- Updated the Agent Directory to include tags so you can see which agents you have already installed and also which agents have version updates. See Agent directory.
- Added the ability to add up to five example preferred outputs to specialized agents, which helps Opal evaluate its responses. See the Add preferred output section in the Create specialized agent documentation.
- The quality score of an agent run, based on these examples, is viewable in the specialized agent logs.
- Enhanced the text editor for the Prompt Template when creating specialized agents improving the Markdown writing experience. See the Configure the prompt template section in the Create specialized agents documentation.
- Released the Content Adaption agent to the Agent directory which helps you repurpose core content by reformatting, rephrasing, and optimizing it for specific platforms such as social media, email, or web pages.
- Released the UTM Creation agent to the Agent directory which simplifies the creation of UTM parameters (tags added to the end of a URL to help track the source, medium, and name of a marketing campaign in website analytics).
- Released the LinkedIn InMail Copy Generation agent to the Agent directory which crafts engaging headlines, body text, and calls-to-action that align with LinkedIn's professional audience and ad specifications, optimizing for B2B outreach.
- Released the Technical SEO Auditor agent to the Agent directory which helps improve content search engine rankings and organic visibility.
- Released the Blog Post Generation agent to the Agent directory which helps accelerate the creation of high-quality blog content.
- Released the GA4 Web Traffic Report Generation agent to the Agent directory which provides insights into Google Analytics data, covering key metrics, traffic sources, and top-performing pages.
- Updated the Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Recommendations agent to use the updated
browse_webtool, which improves JSON-LD extraction for schema markup analysis. See the following Tools section for information. - Updated the Web Accessibility Evaluation agent to use the new

Tools
- Updated the
browse_webtool to improve the JSON-LD extraction for schema markup analysis. The tool now reliably pulls structured data from<script type="application/ld+json">tags. - Rearranged the location for saving and deleting instructions making it easier for you to edit your instructions easily. See Manage instructions.
- Added a confirmation page when deleting instructions ensuring you do not accidentally delete instructions. See Manage instructions.

Opal platform
- Updated the Tools page to include the following filters: Provider, Active Status, and Enabled in Chat. These filters help you quickly find the specific tools you are interested in.
- Rearranged the Tools page to be sorted alphabetically, which helps you find tools quicker.
- Added the total count of tools Enabled in Chat out of a total of 128 to the Tools page. This count helps you monitor the number of active tools, as an Opal instance supports a maximum of 128 active tools.
Agents
- Added a 60-minute timeout to specialized agents, preventing unnecessary consumption of Optimizely Opal credits and mitigates rogue runs that can consume both credits and resources.
- Expanded the Input section by default when creating specialized agents, streamlining the agent creation process.
- Reordered the Add agent drop-down list, improving the agent creation process. See Create specialized agents and Create a workflow agent.
Opal Chat
- Added Mention Agent in Opal Chat, which helps you see the available agents and to call the correct agent.
- Updated the text copy for deleting a chat thread to Delete thread, making it clearer that only the selected chat thread is deleted. See Opal Chat user interface in the Optimizely Opal Chat documentation.
Tools
- Improved the
get_cmp_resource_filestool to be able to process Microsoft Office files larger than 50 MB using smart chunking, helping you edit larger files with ease. See the Get section in the System tools for Content Marketing Platform (CMP) documentation.

- Updated the UI for registering Google Analytics (GA4) and Profound connector tools in Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP). The Opal tab has been removed, and its functionality is now available as an accordion on the Settings tab. This change simplifies the authentication and registration process by consolidating related settings, removing the need to switch between multiple tabs.

Optimizely Reporting for Opal
